HOW MUCH IS TO MUCH?

Sadie is obsessed with putting on sunscreen. That is a good thing, but she has to do it herself. That is a bad thing.

We were at the beach and I had already lathered her all up with sunscreen, I went down by the shoreline and came back and this is what I saw! I just laughed and grabbed my camera. She loves to put it in her hair, she sees me put it in the boys hair so they don't get burnt heads. So she automatically thinks that where it belongs. She definitely won't have a problem with her head getting burnt.

Just Another Day At the BEACH!

We have truly taken advantage of living so close to the beach this year. The kids all enjoy going and it is such a wonderful time when we go. Mitchell loves to body board, Kade loves to jump the waves and dig for sand crabs and Sadie walks the shoreline with her bucket collecting shells and rocks. Scott and I do a little of everything.

We always have to bring plenty of snacks, but we have a wonderful time and we all enjoy ourselves completely.

I have gotten passed the sand mess and I enjoy myself a lot more, the little sand in the car no longer ruffles my feathers. It makes for fun family time and lots of great memories and I realized that is all that matters.

Swim like A FISH!

We totally scored with our swimming lessons. We have the best swim teacher out there. She has taught my boys so much, Mitchell has even been lucky enough to have private lessons. They both are doing so well, and love every minute of it.

McKade is great. He jumps like a crazy man in to the water and swims to the side only to do it all over again and again. He has become a great swimmer and loves to be at the pool any chance he gets.

Mitchell has exceeded my expectations in the water. He has learned all sorts of strokes and is a excellent swimmer. His teacher even said we should consider him on a swim team.

They both love the water, & swim like FISH!

12 course LUNCH!

My kids and I are already bored of are every day simple sandwiches for lunch, so I decided to get creative. I had read about this somewhere, so I decided to spice up lunch for the kids. I told them we were going to have a 12 COURSE LUNCH today! I got all sorts of questions.

I told them not to peak, I was making a surprise for them. They loved the anticipation and they really liked having so many things to choose from. I put it on the table and invited them to lunch! They thought it was great. I didn't get any complaints from Sadie or Mitchell, and Kade only told me he wouldn't eat a few of the items, so I consider it a success! It made for a fun lunch, and it actually lasted longer than the usual 10 minutes. HOORAY!

Homemade Apricot Jam, YUMMY!

I was lucky enough to be able to get in on some free apricots from a family in our ward. My boys love homemade apricot jam, so I thought why not. The kids and I went to pick the apricots and they loved it. I finally had to tell them to stop! We then came home and I didn't even have to ask they wanted to help, especially Sadie. We pulled a chair up to the sink, the boys only lasted a few seconds and they thought it was disgusting to have to break the apricots in have to get the seed out. (these are the same boys that put snails on there face and pull worms apart) Go figure. Anyway, Sadie helped me the entire time, I was able to make 2 batches of jam, get a dryer of dried fruit and a pan of apricot leather. I felt so domestic and the kids enjoyed my labors.

Dirt & Diapers

This is one of Sadie's favorite past times. No clothes playing outside in the dirt. Yeah, I know, I thought I was getting a princess, but she pretty much is a tomboy, that's OK so was I. Hopefully she will be a tomboy in a princess dress, does that work?

Schools Out and Summer Has Begun!

This post is a little late, but better late than never.
The last day of school, which was June 12th I told the boys they could have a few buddies over to have a pizza/watergun fight to kick off summer.

They had a ton of fun and noone left our house without being totally drenched. I think it was because Kade got a hold of the hose and everyone else was trying to get him with there little waterguns. Trust to Kade to break the rules of NOT using the Hose. (like father like son)

They had a great time and made some fun memories together.

Irrigation & Homemade Hottubs!

There is nothing like playing in the irrigation ditch and making hottubs out of mudholes on grandpa's farm. My kids thought they were in heaven. They played four 5 hours and didn't come in bored or hungary once. What I would give for irrigation ditch and a few mudholes next to my house here in California.

It was soo fun to watch them play, it brought good o'l memories back when I was a child and my sibling and I would play for hours doing the same thing. I miss the simple life and good old homemade entertainment!

She's Two!!!!

We had a wonderful time in Utah and we were able to celebrate Sadie's 2 year old birthday there with both grandparents. She didn't really know anyone and did a lot more crying than anything, but it was a wonderful day and we are soo blessed to have her in our life.
