Happy 8th Birthday Bud!

Happy Birthday Mckade! Mom and Dad love you and are so proud of the fine young man you are becoming. It is hard to believe that you are 8 years old. We can remember when you were just 2 and you wanted everyone's wallet, cell phone or pocket knife. To say you were obsessed would be an understatement. You are 8 now and still full of life. You have more energy that dad and I can only dream of. We are so glad that you were sent to our family and so glad we get the opportunity to be your parents while on this earth.

You love everything to do with SPORTS! When we wake up you have already beaten us up and your checking out the ESPN stats on the computer for the day. You love the Jazz especially # 8 Deron Williams, hence your Jazz cake with the # 8 on it. It worked out perfect since you are turning 8. You love BYU, especially there Basketball and Football. You play on a Super League Baseball team, Utah County Venom, you are very talented in baseball. Mom and Dad, Mitchell and Sadie love you so much and are grateful for you and excited to see you grow and develop throughout the years.
We are super excited and proud of the decision you have made to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and excited for next saturday when this will take place.

McKade's 8th Birthday Bash!

Kade has never really had an official birthday party. He has always chosen to do something with the family or with just him and his dad. This year he chose to have a birthday party with a few kids from the neighborhood.

I love parties for BOYS! They are so easy and low stress. Boys don't care to have things cute and they really don't worry about all the little details. I asked Kade what he wanted to do for his birthday, he told me he had it already planned. I said PERFECT! We ended up playing 3 games, all including some kind of ball. We ate pizza, snacks and soda, opened presents and sent them all home with an ice cream sandwich and a bag full of Kade's favorite treats. EASY PEASY!

It turned out really fun, low stress and Kade loved every minute.
We had his birthday party early, his birthday is on Tuesday, we are going to a Jazz game on Wednesday and he has chosen to get baptized on February 5th. We are so lucky to have him in our family and so grateful for the lessons of life he teaches me each day.

Ringing in the New Year RIGHT!

2010 went OUT with a BANG and 2011 is HERE to stay.

We were able to spend New Year's Eve with some of our dear Friends the Smiths. The kids don't get to spend much time together since they live out of town, but when we get together they LOVE each other and are best buddies.

The temps outside were FRIGHTFUL, but we decided to go look at the lights at Temple Square. They were beautiful, good thing we all bundled up WARM!

We enjoyed a YUMMY New Years Eve dinner at Tucano's.

WE had a FABULOUS time, we ended the night swimming, laughing and of course a few treats. The kids played games while the adults chatted and tried to stay awake to welcome 2011. The ball dropped, the fireworks went off, we kissed goodnight and snuggled into our nice warm bed.

We are so blessed, we hope we have wonderful and healthy 2011.
